The Hive is a small, community-based cooperative which provides contemporary bespoke support to people and families living with disability. We provide person centred, one to one support within the communities where our participants live. We work closely to provide positive and creative results to enrich the lives and opportunities for our participants.
Starting in April 2018 The Hive employs a small number of dedicated and passionate people who have a great deal of lived and career experience, drive and natural flair for their work as well a desire to provide flexible and innovative services for the people that they support.
Our supports are based around the requirements of our participants and families and encompasses, but is not limited to, community access, daily living, learning and life skills development, in home respite support, program and plan development and working with our participants to ensure that they are able to live their best life and, most importantly, have the best fun whilst doing it.
Our supports are priced according to current NDIS pricing guides and our participants are either self managed or plan managed under the NDIS.
We work with our participants and their families/carers at The Hive to create a weekly program which will develop their learning and life skills through activities which they enjoy. Our programs currently incorporate activities such as travel training, shopping, cooking, swimming and personal training.
Being a part of our community is a valuable and important part of our lives. At The Hive we provide community based supports for our participants to enable them to create links within their communities and to look for opportunities that will allow them to become valued members within those communities. Supports are usually provided at times between 7am to 3.30pm Monday and Friday but we are happy to provide supports that fit in with our participants needs and requirements at any time. We can accommodate support needs to be as flexible as required, whether that is to assist with morning/evening personal care requirements, catching up with friends on an evening, going out to clubs or socialising, weekend, or overnight support.
There are times where participants or families require respite support and The Hive are able to assist with this. These supports can either be provided in-home or externally through other applicable accommodation options where participants require support staff to be in attendance.
The Hive (Qld) Cooperative Ltd [The Hive] was founded in 2018 by the three directors who have a great depth of lived and career experience as well as a passion to support people living with disability to lead fun and valued lives whilst learning important skills to assist with daily life. The Hive was initially set up as a response to requests from families to provide support that was a better results based alternative to the centre-based group supports that they were receiving.
